I was appointed to the Governing Body in July 2017. I have lived in Shincliffe for 40 years, during which time our two sons were born and both gained greatly by attending Shincliffe CE Primary School.
My background is in Education, including Primary, Further and Higher Education. I have a Masters in Educational Management from Durham University and have specialised in Communication, Mediation/Conflict Resolution and Equality and Diversity.
I steward at Durham Cathedral where I enjoy welcoming visitors from across the world. I am a keen gardener and enjoy spending time on my allotment. As a trustee of Old Durham Gardens, I work with other volunteers to restore and maintain the 17th century walled and terraced gardens. In my role as local Parish Councillor with responsibility for horticulture, I have had fun working with the children at Shincliffe School helping them to plant areas of the Parish with wild flowers.
Register of interests statement: I can confirm that I do not have any relevant business interests including other Governor positions and that I do not have any relationships with members of the school staff including spouses, partners, relatives. There are no other conflicts of interest.
