Shincliffe CE Primary School is proud of being an ‘International’ school and celebrates many different cultures through our globally enriched curriculum.
French is taught as part of the curriculum to all pupils and we have strong links with l’Ecole de Buironfosse in the north east of France.
All pupils are involved in our international work and global themes are embedded into our curriculum. We enjoy celebrating many festivals from around the world, such as Chinese New Year, Brazilian carnival, Harvest and Christmas.
We are enjoying finding out about Brazilian culture through our Connecting Classrooms project and we recently hosted four Brazilian teachers in school.
International School Award
Shincliffe (CE) Primary has been re-accredited for the International Schools Award from 1st September 2021 – 31st August 2024 in recognition of our varied and engaging range of international activities.
Our fully embedded international curriculum includes activities, such as ‘Christmas celebrations around the world’, ‘Brazilian Carnival’, ‘Chinese New Year’, ‘Discovery Week to France’, International visitors from e.g. Russia, Japan, China, regular newsletters, and the contribution from our Very International People Year 6 pupils committee.
The assessors from the International School Award Team at the British Council wrote:
‘This is a very good Impact Evaluation from Shincliffe C of E (Controlled) Primary School and I am approving if for Re-accreditation of the International School Award.’
